Live Burn Training 03-31-2007

The CCFD performed several training classes in a house on Main St. in Highland Heights.  The department trained in the house on several occasions prior to having the live burn training.  Members had to prep the house to be burned by covering open holes in the walls, adding ventilation holes in the roof, removing the carpet and accessories thru out the entire house, the house itself had to be inspected by the regional training director and the EPA prior to burning, and other various duties.  Prepping the house took over a week to get done before any burning could be done inside it.  On the day of the live burn members were placed in five separate groups which rotated thru various stations consisting of initial attack team, back up team, RIT team, ventilation, and a rehab position.  The CCFD would like to thank all of those who made the burn possible and to Joe Krebs for donating the house.
